Am I doing my civic duty or not?

I haven't heard back from the Red Cross so I assume that they don't want me for the Ohio Flood DRO. I have to admit that while I would shuffle somthings around and drive to Ohio tonight if they needed me to, I am actually glad they didn't want me (probably not specifically me but someone with my type of classification). I am still not feeling 100 percent and I am looking forward to a weekend of working on teaching things with a few breaks for house work. I also want to go to the market on Saturday as the Farm Direct Meat folks are going to be there. I would like to pick up a few things for the September Eating Local Challenge. I will be stretching the "rules" a bit for Rosh Hashanah and a few other things like coffee but I want to eat local as much as possible that month.

I am going to give myself brownie points for being willing to go and only feel a tiny bit guilty that I am actually glad I am not deploying.

Now I am off to talk about gender stereotypes between couging fits. I am glad that upper level students tend to be pretty forgiving.
