So good I am giddy

Not meant to sound like gloating but I wanted to share my happiness.
Several times a month when I walk out of the building where my office is located, I get the tingling feeling that I mentally associate with seeing someone you love. The campus is beautiful but it is more than that; it is the sense of belonging. Leaving campus today, the skies were brilliant blue with just enough white clouds to make the blue pop. The grass was emerald green and freshly mowed. The trees on campus are a mix of many greens, crimson (maples), and clouds of pink and white blooms. The air was filled with the sounds of birds and there were several butterflies fluttering around the flowers. That was all on top of the pleasure of having submitted all of my spring grades and the satisfaction of finding better furniture for my office.
The drive from campus gave me more reasons to smile -- lilac and snowball blossoms which were among the things I missed most when living in the south, then I spotted the royal blue of the first iris blooms I have seen this year, and farther the road another clutch of goslings which were younger and even fuzzier than the ones I saw yesterday.
After making it back to Chesterton, I had a PT appointment and the combination of that therapy and meds gives me hope that I can reclaim some of the activities I miss. After that appointment, I stopped by and lingered at the the library. Finally I wrapped my day up by trying the Polish diner in town for a late lunch/early dinner. I am not so sure about Polish food but I'll give it another try when my stomach isn't still feeling odd. This evening looks like thunderstorms/rain are likely and that actually feels like the perfect ending to this day. I have a leisurely evening of reading and household chores planned. On top of all of that I have the satisfaction of knowing that tomorrow doesn't have a single scheduled activity -- I have the whole day to work on a research article.
The journey to this point wasn't always easy but it has been worth it.
