destabeebut you my lucky readers have been saved from such rambles by aching hands that make typing not so much fun. Sadly, I am not getting to many comments either. I have been considering buying a Dragon Naturally Speaking for a variety of reasons and today is making that seem like a very good idea.
Instead of a regular post here are some teasers that I want to write about later:
1. Spring break is starting with falling and blowing snow -- I think I have reached the point of being ready for winter to end. Time to pack up the snowmen until Thanksgiving.
2. I have been feeling grumpy about photography lately. I don't feel like I have been making much improvement and had lost sight of why I take photos. The past couple of days have brought some reminders that put things back in perspective. I am thankful for that.
3. I was just grumping at myself for being lazy this morning and then realized that by 9 a.m. I had paid bills, updated Quicken, washed dishes, and taken care of a load of laundry. So I didn't head off to the office early as planned. There won't be many people around anyway and it isn't essential that I go to campus today. So I should lighten up with myself.
4. Need ideas for things to eat that sound good to me -- I am in a food rut and having popcorn for dinner far too often
5. Thoughts on annual celebrations and rituals that are meaningful in my personal life.
6. Symbols and foundations of my personal spiritual belief system
7 Things I want to accomplish during break
8 Update my cast of characters and thoughts on relationships in my life

Date: 2007-03-02 08:06 pm (UTC)I used Dragon Naturally Speaking for a while during grad school when I started having a lot of problems with my wrists. Overall, it worked quite well. My only complaints were that I had to stay in the same room I'd "trained" it in (the background noise differences between the library and the office were such as to greatly lower accuracy) and that I had to use an unnatural manner of speech for highest recognition success (I wasn't able to speak to it normally - pacing, inflection, and tone had to be kept relatively slow and even).
