Odd moment of the day: A female student asked me to look at her butt and tell her if it looked like she had wet her pants. (She was afraid that she had set in something). Still it was the first time a student has asked me to check out their behind.
Thank goodness this day is over. I can't say it was a wonderful day. I coughed my way through my classes. The chair search committee met and the vote was that neither candidate was acceptable so all the work involved in the interviews was for nothing. We will meet in two weeks to reconsider the remaining applicants. Between those events was frantic grading and class prep. The day on campus wrapped up with another of the junior faculty mentioning annual reports which are due on March 1; this is the first I have heard that I needed to do said report.
I brought exams home to grade tonight but I think I'll set the alarm for 4 and work on them in the morning. Tomorrow between classes, Dawn and I are going to try to finalize a submission for the conference in Australia and then tomorrow night is the sleep study. At various points there are also things involving the social work candidate who is interviewing tomorrow.
4 more days and then spring break which won't be much of a break but at least no meetings, no interviews, and no classes.
To end on a happier note -- Pear nectar is very good stuff.
