Weekend Update: nothing especially interesting, enlightened or entertaining

My weekend so far:

Friday night the Northwest Indiana Pagan meeting I have previously mentioned.

Saturday

• Morning run to Target, B&N, and a futile search for more kitchen canisters to match the ones I have (stops at Pier I and Bed, Bath, & Beyond)
  
  
  
• An afternoon and evening of college footballs where my major team, the Sooners, didn't do so well.
  
  
  
• Late evening of watching Erin Brochovich. I like almost all Julia Roberts movies though I don't know what she was thinking when it comes to The Mexican. I didn't realize it until last night but my other favorite actress had a smallish part in the movies as well. Who might that be? Marg Helgenberger who is Katerine on CSI.
  
  The characters of Erin and Katherine have some things in common that I admire -- smart (though interestingly both characters are shaped by the fact that they are not formally educated), no nonsense, passionate, gutsy, tough but deeply caring, able to move between worlds, sensual, and IMO sexy as all get out. There are several of these traits that I would like to nurture within myself.
  
  
  
• My other major activity for the day was going back through some old photos to rework some and prepare them for sending off for printing. The photos I have printed so far are a random set mostly coming out of a class I took in the spring. Seeing those in print made me want to see some of my better ones in print. However, when I originally process some of those I didn't understand Photoshop all that well and didn't realize the ways that they would be cropped if I submitted them as originally taken. So I have been going back through and cropping/resizing them to be the size they will be when printed. What I found interesting were the shots I had previously ignored that now catch my eye as interesting. This is yet another example of awareness of shifts in perception that I have noticed in the last few weeks. As of yet I can't frame the shifts in terms of any coherent pattern or theme; I am curious to see what it is once my subconscious sends my conscious mind the memo.
  
  
• Scattered throughout the day were random bits of housework, filling the feeders, etc.

Plan for today: pay bills, write three exams, grade online work from students, make use it or lose it soup, cook a mess of beans for the feezer, laundry, dishes, hopefully more photo work

nisie, brandedeclipse, egyptian_spider, rebellibrarian, and merenwentari I finally remembered to pick up more mailing supplies and will drop your books in the mail tomorrow. They will be going media mail but hopefully they will reach you within a couple of weeks at the most.
