Only 4 to go
Apr. 25th, 2007 08:16 am4 regular class meetings that is. Two lectures to give today. Tomorrow one lecture and listening to one set of presentations. Of course there are final exams to write and lots of grading but my first academic year at PNC is drawing to a close. I am still finding that things that have worked for six or seven years don't work here for some reason. Combine that with the fact that 4 of my next six classes are blended/hybrid/mixed mode/pick your label (meaning that they are 50 percent in person and 50 percent online) and I have much revising to do. The sixth course is entirely new so I have to design it from scratch (research methods). Still I have survived my first year here and I continue to fall more deeply in love with my life as a Hoosier.
The weather for today through Friday is wet and cool. I don't mind as we need the rain and it is easier to be inside grading when outside is not so nice. The weekend looks better in terms of weather. I am going to avoid making many plans. I have been staying on the go and the idea of mostly puttering around home and possibly giving in to whims sounds nice.
Speaking of going places. Last night I attended my first photography club meeting. It was a bit odd. The turnout was extremely low and the demographics were not what I expected. 2 men about my age, 7 men at least 20 years older than me, and yours truly.
