The good, the bad, and the ugly

The Good: A dividend check from State Farm. You have to like unexpected money even if it isn't a large amount.

The bad: It was one of those intense work days where you swim to the surface at the end of the day in a fog but have a small list of accomplishments to show for it.

The ugly: The fact that many of my Intro to Soc students are in for an unpleasant life lesson as the deadline for completing Module 2 of online work has just passed and many of them left a great deal of work undone.

I should be sleeping but I am not

My mind is buzzing way too fast with thoughts about:

1. teaching
2. politeness and attitudes of entitlement
3. what to take to wear this weekend
4. how to make my campsite more interesting this weekend
5. what to take to eat this weekend
6. chores I need to do with the house
7. how to handle politics at work
8. who to support in the presidential election
9. what my dream homestead would be like
10. photos I would like to take
11. unfulfilled commitments
12. memories of SCA events

With regard to numbers 3 and 4 it is clear that my playful/creative/impish impulses are very rusty. My wardrobe and my approach to life has become far too dull and mainstream. I must work on this.
