4 beavers
possum
Yesterday I took a drive along Ten Mile Road in the Kankakee Fish & Wildlife Area. The most interesting things I saw there were four sandhill cranes and this bald eagle.

The entire list of things I saw is ( here )
Today was about trying to make my physical space work better for me; I couldn't stand living like a college student anymore. Then again maybe this was a fit of spring cleaning -- temperatures were near 60 today and for the first time since MLK weekend there is no snow on my deck.
In terms of my nesting urge. I have at least taken some first steps to upgrading to graduate student living at least by purchasing a futon (not sure when it will be delivered yet). It will allow me to better utilize space in my living room and get things to the point where I am more comfortable having guests over. I also bought some cheap garage type shelving to organize the second bedroom/office/storage room. I moved my desk (read the dining table I don't have a space to use as a table) and set up one set of shelves. Now I need to sort and purge the boxes of stuff that I pulled out of that room.
My other goal for the day were curtains or blinds for the bedroom as the ones there now clash with my bedding. Sadly I was not successful on that front. While searching for curtains, I did find a rolling cart for the kitchen that was on clearance. It will allow me to better utilize this odd space in the kitchen -- once I put it together that is.
I still need to upgrade bookshelves and get a very small dining table (both available at Ikea). The emerging style for my place has a strong mission style feel. I would also like to find a chest of drawers for the bedroom and get rid of some of the make do storage I have in there now.
When I end up moving, I will have more to move but I will be more comfortable in the meantime.
Unfortunately I am out of steam for the day; time to finish the Indian curry I am making for dinner and work on grading some papers.
