holiday cards and evidence of losing my mind

Many of my holiday cards won't reach there destination. Therefore, I declare my holiday tradition to be Happy New Year cards. Late but out is a step in the right direction as opposed to purchased and stored until the next year where they are joined by another round of purchases.

As for losing my mind, I have spent the last few days trying to figure out where I would have put the canister for my bagless vacuum. Last time I went to use it, it wasn't on the machine (I swear). Now the only reason to take it off is to empty it or clean the filter. I looked all over and had convinced myself that somehow it must have ended up in the boxes that I took to Goodwill. You can guess where this is going can't you? I just walked into use my desktop computer and the vacuum caught my eyes. The canister is installed on the machine right where it belongs. ???????

pleasures great and small

** clean floors
** a wide variety of music
** realizing how much less pain I am in compared to the past few years
** living in a place with acutal seasons and even the possibility of a white Christmas
** coffee in a my mug
** visual reminders of friendship and love (cards, a flying Christmas mouse, gifts past and present)
** no grading nor lectures that must be written today
** the moments of the last two years that I have captured with a camera
** possibilities and anticipation
** knowing that I will only need to do taxes for one state this year
** feeling like I am making progress away from living on the edge (the not good type)
** ( birds outside my window )
