Self: Stop acquiring tomato plants -- 20 is more than enough. You are limited to containers on a deck there are only so many varieties you can grow. On the subject of enough -- NO more lettuce/salad mix seeds either. The same probably goes for oregano plants; you have that covered too. Remember NO more.
Other than a few emails read and sent, I haven't done any work related to my professional life this weekend. It feels wonderful. I will work on grading this evening if blackboard comes back up. Last evening I watched one of the discs I have had from Netflix for nearly 7 weeks. I spent this morning planting more containers and organizing all the plantings on the deck. I weeded some of the in ground planting strip. I tidied up the storage shed. I did three loads of laundry. I went to the grocery store for milk for the week and a few other provisions. In the process of searching for my second doctoral hood that I told ChR she could borrow for commencement, I found my drum. Sadly most of that happened before 1. Since then I have folded laundry and not much else other than trying to clear out my feed reader and email inbox.

Week 2 + Garden Update for 2008 (April 23 - May 4) As I said before my approach to gardening is rather haphazard. I mix things together. I don't worry overly much if I plant things earlier or later than I should. I garden for the process as much as the product so I don't mind failures. Here is what I have done so far this year. Hopefully by my next update there will be photos to share.

Nothing to harvest yet but I can start clipping herbs now and cutting from the freckles lettuce this week.

No sign of potato sprouts yet. Other things are popping up in the border along the fence (e.g. ferns, salvias, irises, lilies)

I am up to 50 containers and still adding. Details about plantings  )

I guess it goes without saying that if I could by some miracle finesse the budget to make moving possible, it will take a entire U-haul trip and and much person power to move my garden.
