Spring

Apr. 19th, 2008 07:22 am
I am off to West Lafayette for Passover Seder activities as soon as I get myself showered and dressed. One of the things that feels most like family to me is shared time in a kitchen cooking a special occasion meal. Sadly, I have only had a chance to do that a handful of times in my life.

More signs of spring: I had one daffodil and one tulip open yesterday. On a less cheerful note, I received my first mosquito bite of the season as well. I have moved the holiday cacti back outside even though I may need to bring them in for a night now and then. Having them out of my living room makes it feel less cluttered. I took half a mental health day yesterday and started my container garden for the year. I now have oregano, thyme, parsley, cilantro, tiny little baby sage plants, rosemary, chives, and mint planted along with a few pansies, violets, and snapdragons. I also have soil to plant the containers of peas, onion sets, lettuce, spinach, and a few other cool season crops some time this next week.
A very good idea The Elders; not to mention that it includes one of my personal heroes.
